Duplicate Pages Within Topics
Pages in a topic that duplicate the title or content of another page.
Priority: None
Impact: Negative
What issues it may cause
Duplicate pages split the signals for a topic between them, so neither page is as strong as one consolidated page would be.
How do you fix it
For each pair, keep the page with more clicks or citations. Merge the useful content into it, then redirect or canonicalise the other. Where both pages need to exist, rewrite them so each has a distinct title and purpose.
What is the positive impact
Search engines and AI systems may choose the wrong page, or rank and cite neither well.
